FAQ & Troubleshooting

PortGuard v1.1.10 · ← back to documentation

Which switches are supported?

Any switch compliant with RFC 3580 supporting 802.1X and Dynamic VLAN (RADIUS attributes). PortGuard works with most vendors (Cisco, Aruba, HPE, MikroTik, Ubiquiti, etc.).

What happens when the license expires?

The software enters a 30-day grace period during which it continues to operate. At the end, if not renewed, functionality is blocked. You will receive email notifications 30, 15 and 7 days before expiry.

Can I use PortGuard without an internet connection?

Initial license activation requires internet access. After activation, the system also operates on isolated networks, with periodic license validity checks.

How do I integrate on-premises Active Directory?

Via LDAP/LDAPS in Settings → Identity Providers. For Entra ID (cloud) see the dedicated guide.

Does the Standard tier have an endpoint limit?

Yes: the Standard license covers up to 25 endpoints, Professional up to 250. Enterprise has no endpoint limit.

How do I get support?

Email [email protected], or open a ticket from the partner portal. Response SLA: 2 business days (high priority for blocked licenses).
