Captive Portal Configuration

The PortGuard Captive Portal handles onboarding of guests and BYOD devices with multiple profiles and custom branding.

1. Enabling

Dashboard → Captive Portal → Enable
Make sure port 8080 TCP is reachable from the guest network
Associate the portal with the guest VLAN

2. Profiles

Guest self-registration: self-service registration with email/SMS confirmation
Sponsor approval: access approved by an internal sponsor
Click-through: acceptance of terms of use without credentials

3. Branding

Upload your company logo and colors in Captive Portal → Branding
Customize the Terms of Use text shown to the guest
Set the guest session duration and the optional bandwidth limit

Note: for multi-tenant environments you can define a separate Captive Portal profile for each VLAN/SSID.
